How It All Started

The managing member of Opsconn Consulting is Jim Ishoy, who brings extensive experience in turning around underperforming organizations in the high-tech, aerospace, and computer systems industries. With a unique blend of design, manufacturing operations, quality, sales, and general management expertise, Jim has successfully broken down traditional organizational barriers, improving communication, performance, and margins.

Jim's Experience 

Combining his more than 40 years of experience with John Maxwell’s leadership training, Jim is dedicated to enhancing the lives and businesses of others. He is certified to teach, coach, and speak on a variety of John’s leadership principles by utilizing his training in the Maxwell DISC Method of personality profiles.

Jim is also a certified World Class Speaking Coach, having delivered impactful speeches to both large and small audiences in various private and public settings. As a Distinguished Toastmaster in Toastmasters International, he has succeeded in numerous Speaking Contests, earning over eight wins.

• Improved production capacity by 15% through improved production line lay-out and use of Lean principles in reduction in non-productive steps
• Consolidated ISO Registrars from 20 to 1 single Corporate Registrar saving over $1M in cost and improved Quality Management System
• Successfully negotiated over $20M worth of contact change orders for US Army Corp of Engineers at Chef Joseph Dam

Project/Program Management

• Successfully managed 3-year project to install software and operational changes to handle Affordable Care Act (ACA) for a large international Professional Employer Organization (PEO) servicing over 300,000 employees
• Project managed integrating 4 different systems into a single process and a common look and feel to all customers within 2 months processing over 400,000 W2’s, Min Wage updates, non-payroll related cost items and an on-line system for W2 retrieval
• Led Operations team in integration of acquired company performing fit-gap of all processes used to modify software. Successfully migrated over 2,000 customers onto modified platform resulting in acquisition cost being recovered six months early

Engineering

• Improved on-time delivery of enterprise software from 70% to 90% within 6 months
• Rebuilt Manufacturing Engineering team from 4 to 10 in 5 months allowing team to improve production yield by 20% over a 4-week period
• Identified root cause of field failures putting company at risk of closure, certified corrective action resulting in reduction of over $500M in warranty cost
• Improved difficult avionics product yield from 12% to 60% by getting engineering and production teams to work together in identifying true root cause and jointly developing solutions.

General Management

• Launched software Development Company with self-funding and Angel funding to develop Manufacturing Shop Floor control software.
• Account Management (full P&L) of $800M annualized revenue improving profit by 2% annually
• Exceeded new product revenue target by 40% Qtr over Qtr and profit targets by 20% by rapid launch of new products
